Affordable Effective Therapy

We specialize in a variety of massage modalities:

  • Relaxation massage: those are a somewhat generalized style of massage,  (sometimes called Swedish Massage,) with emphasis on overall relaxation.  Sessions last an hour or more.
  • Deep Tissue Massage:  more specific attention to deeper tissues, including muscle, deep fasciae, tendons ligaments and muscles that are not usually addressed in a relaxation-style of massage (e.g. the iliopsoas muscle.)   Sessions last 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Atheletic Massage:  combinations of other modalities listed, but usually geared toward the athlete - from weekend athlete to professional!
  • Neurofascial technique:  treatment of the various compartment structures of the musculoskeletal system.  Examples might be the lower back compartment,  a group of muscles that are contained within the tough, membranous layers known as the thoracolumbar fasciae (which are both deep and superficial layers,) or the lateral compartment of the leg (there are four leg compartments) and their septa (walls) and the vastus lateralis compartment (which can cause symptoms of so-called-and-frequently-misnamed "ITB syndrome.")   This is anatomy-specific muscle therapy, and requires a substantial knowledge of musculoskeletal Anatomy.   Treatment time varies.
  • Deep friction:  helpful for issues of collagen synthesis degradation - meaning that the tendon or ligament isn't progressivey being replaced with strong, healthy material.  This, too is anatomy specific, and requires some precision on the part of the Therapist.   Treatment time varies.
  • Neuromuscular:  several of our Therapists have attended various Neuromuscluar Seminars (St. John Method,) but we don't claim certification in this modalities - but we do claim some background education in these techniques (e.g. Pelvic stabilization etc.)
  • Trigger Point therapy:  helpful for lots of things - especially when the pain you might be experiencing isn't coming from where it hurts!  For example, a HUGE number of headaches - including some kinds of "migraines" - are actually trigger-point referrals.   Treatment time varies.
  • Myofascial treatment: treatment of deep and superficial fasciae, including things like skin rolling and other associated myofascial release techniques.  Treatment time is usually 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Foot Reflexology: several of our Therapists have attended seminars on reflex points of the feet and hands.   No specific claims included, but some people swear by these techniques!   Treatment time is usually around an hour, but can be abbreviated to a 30 minute session.
  • Pregnancy Massage: one of our Therapists is certified in this technique, (though several of us have had a fair amount of experience treating expectant mothers!)
